IPHOTO LIBRARY UPGRADER UPDATEWith it you can run the upgrader on the library, update the library to the version on the Mac and then go back to your Mac and migrate to Photos. Open up Launchpad, and type Apple iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.0 in the search box on the top. Put the V7 library on a portable HD along with the upgrader app and find a Mac running an earlier system and iPhoto. We are both very keen to be seeing our photos again. Option 2: Delete Apple iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.0 in the Launchpad. So I am especially keen to get them to open… it would earn me (and any wise guys out there) a brownie point or 2 (do you have Brownie points in the US?) from my wife. I pressed “launch iPhoto” and got the message “ to open your library use iPhoto upgrader". and got the message your library can now be upgraded. You bet I thought, so I pressed “repair” > entered my password waited just 3 seconds in hope…. Do you want iPhoto to repair permissions? I have done this several times, including from the Applications/Utilities folder and it will not let me get to my I photos without that message. iPhoto Library Manager lets you create multiple iPhoto libraries, instead of having to keep all your photos in a single iPhoto library. I then got the message “there is a problem with one or more of your files. I upgraded my I photo and keep getting this message: To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared To prepare the library, use the iPhoto Library Upgrader available from Apple. The upgrader then opens with a pretty screen I clicked “continue” So then I right clicked on the iPhoto library clicked on open with > applications > utilities > iPhoto upgrader I got the message “ your file needs to be prepared use iPhoto library upgrader”. So then I went to finder > users > pictures > iPhoto library and double clicked. Unfortunately it did not work.įirst I went to Finder > Go > pressed the alt key to reveal the library and the library did not have anything called iPhoto.
